Coffee Tour

A year ago I went on a coffee tour. It was really fun. But I must say the best part was the fact I got to roast my own coffee. Here is a picture of me doing it I found today.

Trips to David

This is a hat we found at a random store on the square. We laughed
really hard when we found it. How long did it take for you to notice?

At Rey we found these awesome carts, which luckily LeAnn was able to
fit into. It was really fun pushing her around in it.
And here we are in Princemart, Alyvia pushing us around on
the pallet cart we got for the trampoline.

Here we have the trampoline!

On the way home we had to squish into one seat
because the trampoline took up the rest, but it was worth it.

Toucans Again

A family from Almirante came to stay with us last weekend so we took them to see the toucans. WE all decided to meet out in service at 10:30 since we were in different car groups but it was really fun. They loved seeing the toucans.

They have grown a lot and love papaya!

They were super friendly. This is Amara the oldest of the family.

This is Coral who serves in Spanish outside of Santiago. Her and her husband
came up and visited for a couple of days she loved seeing
the lettuce and the birds. And in the background is Macaiah the
youngest of the family he didn't want to leave and I
think he fed the Toucans until they couldn't eat anymore.

Trampoline!!!

WE GOT A TRAMPOLINE!!!! I am so excited. I've missed our trampoline in the states. Alyvia and I went to David with the Moores and came back with a trampoline (that was an adventure in itself so I will post about that next). Here are pictures of us putting up the trampoline.
Only in Panama do you get a trampoline kit where one of the
 bars is the wrong shape.

Here Dad is beating the bar into the right shape.

And Mom and I here are showing off our strength pulling the springs into
place. Sadly even after both of us tried we didn't get it in and so
Dad had to pull it in for us, which took him all of 10 seconds.

Pineapple

Here is a pineapple plant in our backyard. They take 2 years to grow but all you have to do is put the top you cut off in the ground and a plant will grow.

Bananas

Here is Alyvia with a bunch of bananas that Dad found out in service. Needless to say when they ripened we ate a lot of bananas!

Assembly

More old pictures, I know. These are from an assembly in Changinola (about 3 1/2 hours away). November 17-18, 2012.
Here we are doing our part on the assembly.

This is the first time I got to watch the contribution box.

This is our old CO translating a talk for us. The brother giving the talk on the
right didn't speak much English so our CO translated it. It was very neat to see.
Here is Adison, Kaia, Copper, Me, and Alyvia.

Family

Here is a group picture from when the family was visiting.

Animal Rescue

During Ginger, Dustin, Vickie, Steve, and the kids' visit, after a day of hiking in Cerra Punta we went to visit the Animal Rescue place up Palmira. Here are some of the pictures we took.
Ginger

Steve and Adin

This bird loved Dustin's eyebrows.

Mom went to the car after this,
she didn't like the monkey as much as it liked her.

Pizza Party

At the beginning of December we had a pizza party. Buffy provided the Dough and we all brought our own pizzas. I made a pesto, bacon, ricotta, caramelized onion pizza. It was actually a going away party for Jolene. Her chicken ranch pizza was amazing and many decided that was their favorite. After eating ridiculous amounts of pizza (There were around 20 types and I made sure to try almost all of them) we all played Sardines, where one person hides and everyone has to find them and hide with them until everyone has found the group. Andrew did the best, he hid laying down in the corner of their yard. He said there was a trail of ants that ran across him, but he still stayed quiet. No one found him and we looked forever! Here are some of the pictures from the party.
A nice picture of Max and Darling

Me with my first plate full of pizza.

Jolene with her going away cake.

Rainbows

Mom and Dad
Alyvia and Lula in her favorite spot.

Alyvia on "her" balcony.

An amazing rainbow. It was actually a full one and was super bright.
It was actually a double rainbow but the second one quickly faded.

Cooper and Kaia

One day we had Cooper and Kaia over for the afternoon. The same afternoon Dad decided to start building the rock wall around our house. So we decided to have the girls help. You will see that we did well corrupting them. This may be why they don't come over as often now...:)

Here we are with our rocks

This is a scorpion we found while picking up rocks.

Then we taught the girls to use the machete, just in case. :D

Kaia eventually gave up and decided pulling the weeds would be easier.

But Cooper got the hang of it quickly and felt quite tough.

And here it Kaia picking a squash from our garden in the back yard.

House

I took these pictures soon after we moved into our new house (July last year). Alyvia and Dad went across the street to a elephant ear field to "borrow" some. Here they are.
Across the street

Here is our "new" house.

Surfing...well not us

These pictures are a bit old. But still I know some of you will enjoy them. One day, during a time period when we were obsessed with the beach and went just about every other week. But what can I say it was the end of the service year and we had a lot of visitors. One day when we went just us and the Bancrofts there were surfers there. I know, sounds safe right? Go swimming where the waves are big enough to surf... but the girls mainly stayed on the sand. We thought it was so cool to see them surfing so here are some of the pics-

Aren't they adorable

And this is my favorite. My mom never goes in the ocean and this is what happens when she does.
One too many gulps of salt water. Click on the picture for a bigger view.
You're Welcome. ;)

Day In Service

Yes these are older pictures but I found them today and thought you guys would enjoy them. This is from a day we met with the Spanish congregation. We preached to anyone who spoke English and the ones from the Spanish took the other houses. The terrain was crazy and caused us all to be very sore the next day. Here are some of the pictures.
Here Dad is with the brother and his daughter climbing up the path.

Amazing View

Here is Dad and I

And here is an adorable picture of Brianna with such a
 pretty view in the background.
